Gyoza (fried pork & vegetable dumplings)

Hi guys!
Golden week was over. ah..., we have no holidays until the end of this semester!?ooops..... D:

How was your golden week??

Did you eat good food? Did you cook? :D

I returned my sweet home during golden week! I enjoyed holiday with my family!
I visited my friend's house. Actually my friend was not there because she lives in America.
She is a daughter of best friend of my mother. When I visited her house, we cooked Gyoza (fried pork & vegetable dumplings)

so, I would like to introduce how to cook "fried pork & vegeable dumplings" !!

*Ingredients

・dumpling wrappers 30
・pork minced meat 100g
・cabbage 3 slices
・leek 100g
・solt and pepper
・sesame oil
・water

First you have to wash your hands!!!!! :D

well, let's cook~♪”

1. cut the leek and cabbage into small piece and then drain off water. (A)

2. put pork minced meat and (A) into a bowl. Knead them with your hands until it become sticky! Put solt, pepper and sesame oil. (B) *I do not know if other family put sesame oil when they cook gyoza. My family always does because it helps the teste good :D)

3. Put (B) on dumpling wrapper. Flod in a half and pinch a fold into the edge and wrap up. Put water on the edge. It helps sticking together between fold and fold. (C)

4. put oil on hot plate and (C). It's like that picture! Fried until it begins to brown. After that put the water to steam it.

well done!

Eat with soy sause and vinegar and if you like, add the spicy oil used to season Chinese food(layou) !! *Be careful when you eat because it's very hot!! :D

when you have party, gyoza is gonna be good food!! It's not that difficult...

why don't you cook it? ;)

  1. I love Gyoza!!!! i sometimes make it.
BTW, hav u ever tried Tibet Gyoza?
I made it as a homework in races and culture class.(Minzoku to bunka class) The Gyoza is called 'Momo' and very similar to ordinary one. The difference is sauce. In Japan, people usually eat Gyoza with vineger and soysause, but pople in Tibet eat momo with tomato sauce.
Plz try someday if ur interested in.;-)
(but I think vinegar and soysauce is better acutually...lol)
